Our neuroradiologists at Houston Radiology Associated are all board certified with fellowship training and subspecialty certification in imaging and diagnosing diseases affecting the head, neck, brain and spine. Drawing on decades of diagnostic and procedural experience and trusted relationships with our clinical colleagues, we offer the latest in advanced imaging techniques and procedures. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of patient care through our radiology examination reports, procedures, interdisciplinary conferences, and teaching of our radiology residents through our residency program.
In addition to providing state-of-the-art imaging for all standard examinations of the head, neck, brain and spine with all modalities including Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound (US), X-Ray Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, and Positron Emission Tomogram (PET), we offer subspecialized imaging detailed below.
Cancer Imaging
Our neuroradiologists work closely with our clinical colleagues to evaluate tumors of the brain, head, neck, and spine, plan treatment, and monitor patients with imaging after treatment. Some of the advanced imaging services provided include:
- PET-CT
- Functional MRI (BOLD and DTI)
- Intraoperative MRI for select cases
- MR Spectroscopy
- 4D-parathyroid CT
- High resolution temporal bone CT and high resolution skull base MRI for skull base tumors, cranial nerve tumors and other pathology
- High resolution dynamic pituitary MRI
Neurodegenerative Disease, Dementia, and Epilepsy Imaging
Our neuroradiologists work closely with neurologists to evaluate dementia, neurodegenerative disease, and epilepsy with the latest imaging techniques, including:
- High resolution MRI sequences
- NeuroreaderTM Quantative Neuroimaging to assess brain volume
- Perfusion MRI
- 7 Tesla MRI for select epilepsy cases
- PET-CT
Spine, Joint, and Nerve Imaging
We are the primary neuroradiologists for the Houston professional sports teams including the Texans, Astros, and Dynamo. In addition, we also provide imaging and interpretation for the many elite artists of the Houston Symphony, Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, and other performing artists from around the globe, through the Houston Methodist Center for Performing Medicine.
Our neuroradiologists provide state of the art imaging and subspecialized interpretations of:
- Brachial plexus and lumbosacral plexus
- Spine
- Sacroiliac joints
- Temporomandibular joints with dynamic MRI
- High resolution cranial nerve MRI
Stroke Imaging
Our neuroradiologists provide rapid imaging assessment of stroke in conjunction with our neurology and emergency medicine colleagues as part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center team. Rapid perfusion software is utilized to assess patients who may benefit from clot removal. Our Interventional Neuroradiologists are nationally renowned for their expertise and leadership in the field of stroke treatment.
Subspecialized Procedures
Our fellowship trained neuroradiologists perform numerous subspecialized procedures at a high volume, including but not limited to:
- Lumbar puncture
- Myelogram of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
- Epidural steroid injections
- Facet joint steroid injections
- Sacroiliac joint steroid injections
- Vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for spinal fractures
